Why do I need design services if I already know what I want?

Not every renovation requires full design services. For example, if you’re updating a kitchen without changing the layout, or refreshing your main floor, we can often build directly from your direction. That said, design adds value beyond drawings, it’s also about selecting finishes, coordinating colors, and creating a seamless look across your home. For projects with new layouts, additions, structural work, or permits, design becomes essential. It ensures your renovation is buildable, code-compliant, and beautifully tied together from start to finish.

Do I have to use Magnum’s in-house design team, or can I bring my own designer?

We’re flexible. Many clients prefer our in-house team for efficiency and cost savings, but we’re happy to collaborate with your designer or architect if you already have one.

How detailed are the architectural drawings?

We provide full, permit-ready drawings that clearly outline layouts, dimensions, and construction details. These are the same plans our trades use to deliver accurate pricing and precise execution.

Can Magnum handle city permits for me?

Yes. When you appoint Magnum as your general contractor, we take full responsibility for preparing, submitting, and tracking your permit applications. How much does a design package cost?

Our design packages are tailored to the scale of your project. For smaller renovations, such as a bathroom or kitchen, a design package may start around $5,000–$8,000. For full-home renovations or additions, packages are more comprehensive and typically range from $12,000–$35,000+, depending on the level of detail, drawings, and permit requirements. Rather than one-size-fits-all, we build a package that fits your scope, whether you need interior design selections, architectural drawings, or a full permit-ready submission. The advantage of working with Magnum is that your design package integrates directly into your construction plan, so there are no gaps between drawings and what actually gets built.
